Thank you for participating in this year’s Take Your Child to Work Day! Wegreen heart that looks handdrawn are so excited as this is our first year back in person for this amazing event! As of April 13 there are more than 400 people registered to attend this year’s event.

Compiled below is the finalized program of events and important documents that your unit will need for the Take Your Child to Work Day event.

Important to-do items for the day of the event - April 27, 2023

Post Your Pennant

You will be receiving a green felt pennant via campus mail within the next week. If you do not receive this by Mon, 4/24, please contact me directly (Rachel Perez, gonza243@msu.edu)

Post this pennant inside the building entrance to indicate that your attendees have found the right building for your unit’s activity/tour.

After the event, please follow the instructions included with your pennant envelope (and attached) to return the pennant to the WorkLife Office via campus mail (Linton Hall, 479 West Circle Drive, Suite 116)

Print and post the Directional Signage

These signs will help direct attendees to your unit’s activity/tour location. Print as many of each kind of arrow as you need. The sign can be printed in color or black ink.

Painters tape works great for posting signs to walls and doors.

Print and post the attached Attendance QR Code Flyer

Please ask attendees to scan the QR Code to mark their attendance to your event.

This is a quick 1 minute sign in option that is helpful for data tracking purposes, we ask for minimal information of the attendees.

Print and Post the Back Up Sign In Sheet

Please print several copies of this and have available at the beginning of your activity/tour location for attendees who do not have a smart phone or who would prefer to physically sign in, instead of using the above listed QR Code.

Please take a picture at the end of the day and email the sign in sheet to Rachel Perez at gonza243@msu.edu.

This document is for informational purposes for attendees. You can print some copies of this to have available if appropriate, but not required.

Remind people of the Central Certificate Ceremony from 11am-12pm at Shaw Hall Basement West Study Lounge. 

We’ll be celebrating participation in MSU’s 2023 Take Your Child to Work Day event with the one and only Sparty! University Health and Wellbeing Assistant Provost and Executive Director Alexis Travis and her family will be doing a brief presentation. Also enjoy an MSU Bakers’ cookies and a certificate!

  • Closest Parking: Employee parking available in Ramp 1 or Parking Lot 41 
  • Enter from either the rear entrance of Shaw Hall (riverside) or the front west entrance  
  • (Elevators and stairs available at front west entrance of Shaw Hall)

Photography Statement

Michigan State University staff may photograph, record, or otherwise document this event. Multimedia content gathered from this event may be published on MSU social media, websites, and other platforms. By participating in this event, you acknowledge and agree that the audio, video, film and/or print images may be edited, duplicated, distributed, reproduced, reformatted, and/or translated into other languages in any manner without payment of fees, in perpetuity. If your likeness is to be used for commercial purposes (paid advertising and print materials), you will be contacted to sign a release prior to use. (The photo release form can be used in your unit/department.) The photo statement document can be printed and posted in your location.

Parking Information

Parking on-campus will operate as normal. If you have an employee permit, you can park in all designated employee parking spaces. If you do not have an employee permit, you can purchase a virtual daily parking pass for $10 at permits.police.msu.edu or park in pay-by-plate lots and metered spots for $2/hour. If you have any questions regarding parking, contact the MSU Parking Services at (517) 355-2221 or email info@police.msu.edu within their operation hours Mon-Fri 8am-4pm. MSU Spot On app can help make parking at pay-by-plate locations easier. Enter your information in the app ahead of time.
