Take Your Child to Work Day Recap

children learning about recycling at Community, Food & Environment InstituteMichigan State University fully embraced this year’s theme of “envision your future” during Take Your Child to Work Day on April 25. More than 30 units across campus participated in Take Your Child to Work Day this year. This takes effort, planning, coordination and staff time in order to showcase the wonderful work being done across campus. We appreciate the unit directors, faculty, staff and student interns who pulled together to make this an incredible event for both their coworkers and the kids who attended. Thank you so much for participating this year. Your work and dedication to the university and the event is vital to its continued success. Your efforts to broaden the horizons and encourage creativity of people young and old across so many different career paths is inspiring.

Dr. Wayne Hutchison and his daughter Haiden, spoke about what they wanted to do when they grow up. Wayne’s dream was to be an astronaut and he talked about how that dream led him into the United States Air Force before starting his career at MSU. Wayne was chosen as a speaker to talk about all of the different types of careers you can have with a business degree, he is the director of academic and program services for the Full-Time MBA program at MSU. Kids from many different ages got a chance to meet Sparty. received certificates, a bag of swag and then participated in a drawing for even more great giveaways.
