About the Speakers:

Noel Tom headshotNoel Tom, MSU Dietetic Intern

Noel Tom is a Dietetic Intern at Michigan State University. She is currently working on completing her Dietetic Internship and obtaining her master’s in Nutrition and Dietetics at MSU. She plans on taking the RD (Registered Dietitian) exam after finishing grad school.

Her passion for food and nutrition started at an early age, where she would help her mother in the kitchen preparing different dishes. Her interest grew when she got older and developed food intolerances such as gluten and dairy products. Her passion grew even more when she came to the realization that she needs to prepare her food from scratch to avoid her intolerances.

Noel recently started a cooking page on Instagram to help people who are suffering from the same food allergies/intolerances prepare delicious meals and to show them better alternatives to their allergens. Her Instagram handle is @cooking_with_noel

Abby Richey headshotAbby Richey, MS, RD

Abby Richey serves as the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist for Health4U. Her work focuses on helping individuals discover the joy of eating for good health and wellness. She works with clients through individual counseling sessions and on-campus programming.

Her professional background in nutrition and fitness includes working in areas of healthcare, WIC, food service, sports nutrition, higher education, cooking demonstrations, and counseling.

Abby lives in Lansing with her husband, 3 children, and 1 dog. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors and going on new adventures with her family.
