Topics: Domestic Adoptions and Special Needs China Program. Parents are being sought to adopt and raise children in need of loving homes.

Presenters: Nancy Cannon, LBSW, Director of Adoption Associates for Central Michigan who has filled this role for the past 22 years and Kris Dickens, LBSW, international consultant and caseworker at Adoption Associates who has been in this role for 10 years. Both Nancy and Kris are mothers of adopted children.

Kris will be talking about the Special Needs China Program and the critical need for adoptive parents. She can address any of the citizenship issues and questions that potential parents might have. There is a great need for families for these special needs children.

Nancy will talk about Adoption Associates’ domestic program and the children that they place. She will also address a side of the national opiate epidemic that many do not see - the impact on the infants born to addicted mothers. Adoption Associates creates adoption plans for some of these children, and they have great need for families who are willing to provide a loving and stable home for them. In addition, Nancy will talk about the trends in domestic adoption, as well as briefly discuss the adoption process for those who may be interested.
