Adult Caregivers Employee Resource Group: Probate and Estate Planning Method, Mistakes, and Myths

Event Description

Local attorney Bradley Vauter, JD provides a wealth of knowledge regarding important topics including elder law, LGBT legal issues, probate, and estate planning. Come to this session, learn about these topics, and ask Brad questions in a safe and respectful setting!

This group is intended to virtually connect MSU faculty and staff who have caregiving responsibilities for adults in their lives and those navigating assisting a senior in their life with changing care needs. This group is open to anyone interested in connecting with other adult caregivers, or learning about issues such as how to care for yourself as a caregiver, how to start conversations about living situation changes, or how to navigate end of life choices conversations. Meetings are the fourth Thursday of the month from 12pm to 1pm during the academic year. For questions contact Ebony Lucas at lucase@msu.edu.

Brad Vauter is an attorney in private practice at Bradley Vauter & Assoc. PC, a firm in Grand Ledge with fair-size elder law, probate law, and estate planning practice. The firm also works in other areas including property law, non-profit and small business law, and works, as well, with the LGBT community. He is a graduate of MSU College of Law, where he participated in the Moot Court. He was the chair of the elder law and disability rights section of the state bar from 2012-13. In the past, he has also worked in legal service programs such as Elder Law of Michigan, the AIDS Legal Counsel of Chicago, Michigan Protection and Advocacy, and Legal Services of Northern Michigan and had been in private practice too in SE Michigan.
