The WorkLife Office staff knows that this unprecedented experience will require preparation, thoughtfulness, and certain resources. We are working hard to support you in the best ways possible. To that goal, we have developed many resources on our website including this post about supporting your family during these trying times.

WorkLife is Here for You!

We know these are trying times and we are faced with new challenges.  We want you to know that WorkLife is here to support you!  We have some resources that have been established for many years like backup dependent care.  Yet, our current shared experience causes us to make sure to look at these services a little differently while adding new resources.  This blog post includes a brief overview.

Additionally, we are doing our part in reducing the risk of exposure to COVID-19 by taking into consideration the health of the child before accepting requests for back-up care. While we don’t anticipate these measures will have a dramatic effect on the care we provide, we are prepared to take additional action if necessary and will keep you informed every step along the way."

Our shared experience is rapidly changing.  Check the WorkLife Facebook page for the most up-to-date news.

Remember, MSU employees have access to to hire their own back-up care provider, which is not reimbursed currently, but does give parents and caregivers a way to find each other and have in-home care of their own choosing.  Visit

Work from Home

There is currently an increasedf need to implement remote work strategies, as we seek to reduce our in-person contact for a while, yet not fall out of touch or cease operations. The WorkLife Office has a great deal of experience addressing alternative work arrangements, including telecommuting, flexible scheduling, work-from-home or teleworking, etc.
