WorkLife Celebrates the Family ERG: Parent/Caregiver and Tot Music and Movement Class

Hooray for a successful Parent/Caregiver and Tot Music and Movement class for the November Family Employee Resource Group (ERG) session! We want to thank those who joined us to explore, dance, and play as we partnered to create connections and celebrate each child in an interactive, play-based, and supportive environment. We are fortunate to have the opportunity to partner with Allison Horne, Early Childhood Education Specialist, who has worked in the classroom as an early educator, a lab instructor for college students modeling best practices in early childhood development, as well as a consultant and parent coach sharing resources and support for local parents. Allison brought with her lesson, the transformative nature of music and movement and provided MSU employees the opportunity to connect to other MSU parents and caregivers.

The WorkLife Office coordinates the monthly Family Employee Resource group sessions, which offer space for MSU employees to connect to other Spartans with common lived experiences as caregivers. Our Family ERG sessions consist of virtual and in person sessions for Spartans to connect on family related topics. We are looking forward to hosting another Parent/Caregiver and Tot Music and Movement class in May 2023 (location TBD), this time focused on children ages 18-36 months, (siblings welcome 😊).
