Strategies for grounding, visualization, mindfulness and self-care in partnership with the Department of Animal Science

The WorkLife Office is thrilled to have partnered with the MSU Department of Animal Science to host their Fall 2022 Retreat on Monday, December 19, 2022. This three-hour retreat was a chance to bring together the Department of Animal Science faculty, staff, post docs, and graduate students to participate in team-building activities and strategies to help manage stress.

The WorkLife office presented grounding strategies, methods for visualization, mindfulness techniques, and the importance of maintaining self-care. This was also an opportunity for the Department of Animal Science to reflect on their amazing work throughout the Fall 2022 semester and the future for the department.

The Department of Animal Science reached out to the WorkLife Office with the goal in mind of bringing their unit together for an end of semester event that would allow them to continue building collegial relationships and celebrate their accomplishments with friends and food! The WorkLife Office provided two presentations and associated team-building activities to inspire thinking and planning around how to build your best colleague and manage stress during times of uncertainty. With almost 50 participants, lots of laughs, and some great food, we call this retreat a success! We hope that the retreat will allow the Department of Animal Science to move into the new year with a fresh perspective and stronger relationships.
