Healing and recovery stages are different for all
Date: 4-3-2023
Connection is the number one way to recover. It’s important to provide a place to gather and space to recover. People across campus continue to contact University Health and Wellbeing teams for support and resources. The WorkLife team and 150+ other folks attended a Trauma 101 training last month to learn how to better support people. The replay from a similar session is available.
Below is a sample of ongoing support for healing. Recovery will will be ongoing over time at different levels for different folks. Grief and trauma responses are different for everyone. Healing happens at a different time and pace for each person.
Wellbeing Boxes
The WorkLife Office has assembled Wellbeing Boxes (contents pictured above) for departments throughout MSU to borrow and have available for staff in a break room or designated calm space. The boxes include items such as puzzles, coloring books and fidget gadgets and will be available for the East Lansing, Flint, Detroit, and Grand Rapids campuses plus MSU Extension. If your department is interested in a box, please send an email to worklife@msu.edu to learn more.
